On 8 May 2026, the online event “§24 Is Coming to an End — What’s Next? Options for Ukrainians in Germany” took place, focusing on the possibilities for Ukrainians to continue their lawful stay in Germany after the end of temporary protection.
During the webinar, Anna Mameshyna, an immigration lawyer and member of the Düsseldorf Bar Association (RAK Düsseldorf), provided a detailed overview of possible scenarios following the expiration of §24, available pathways to legal residence, practical aspects of document preparation, and common mistakes to avoid. Particular attention was also given to participants’ individual cases and questions submitted both during registration and throughout the webinar.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ms. Mameshyna for her professionalism, well-structured presentation, and comprehensive coverage of this important topic. We would also like to thank all participants for their active engagement, thoughtful questions, and meaningful contributions to the discussion. It is thanks to your interest and involvement that such events become an important platform for support, information sharing, and interaction within the Ukrainian community in Germany.
We also encourage everyone to continue following developments and updates in immigration law, as the legal framework governing the stay of Ukrainians in Germany may evolve in the future, potentially affecting available residence options and pathways to legalisation.
