The team of the Ukrainian Consultation Centre in Düsseldorf took part in the fourth Zukunftsforum Demokratie Düsseldorf 2026, which focused on democratic resilience, European identity and justice.
💬 What were the key topics?
Discussions addressed a range of important issues, including:
▪️ the importance of Ukrainian identity and culture in the face of russian aggression;
▪️ the integration of Ukrainians in Germany through employment and participation in local community life;
▪️ countering disinformation and propaganda;
▪️ fostering partnerships between Ukrainian and German cities and strengthening the role of civil society in promoting democracy.
Particular attention was given to the experiences of Ukrainian communities in engaging displaced people in social life, as well as the importance of supporting initiatives that foster interaction between local residents and newcomers.
