On 18 September 2025, the Ukrainian Consultation Centre in Düsseldorf officially opened its doors.
The event was attended by the representatives of BAMF, local organisations and institutions, and the Consulate General of Ukraine in Düsseldorf. The opening included remarks on the wider context of the initiative. The CORE-UA team presented the project and outlined the UCC's role in improving access to reliable information and support for temporarily displaced persons from Ukraine in Germany. BAMF representatives highlighted the importance of practical, accessible local support structures.
Consul Oleh Yevdokimov from the Consulate General of Ukraine in Düsseldorf emphasised the value of cooperation between institutions and civil society actors. The local team of the Centre then presented its main areas of work, including guidance on social and administrative matters and cooperation with relevant partner organisations. The official opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony with representatives of BAMF and the Consulate General.
The event also created space for exchange among guests from public institutions, social service providers, and partner organisations. Discussions focused on current needs and future cooperation in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. With its opening, the Ukrainian Consultation Centre in Düsseldorf becomes a new local point of contact for Ukrainians seeking reliable information, practical guidance, and access to relevant support services.
