On September 24, 2026, the Ukrainian Counseling Center in Munich held an online meeting titled “Using Ukrainian Documents in Germany.”
The speaker was attorney Svitlana Fischer, a member of the Munich Bar Association with more than 20 years of legal experience.
During the lecture, participants received practical information on the topics that most often raise questions among Ukrainians living in Germany:

International passport: validity period, how many passports one person may hold, where abroad a passport can be ordered and collected, and in which cases a passport is considered invalid or unfit for use;

Children’s documents: which documents confirm a child’s identity and how to obtain Ukrainian citizenship for children born abroad;

Loss of documents abroad: what to do and the certificate of identity for return to Ukraine;

Civil status documents: which documents are most often needed in Germany, extracts from the State Register of Civil Status Acts, and confirmation of “divorced” status;

Apostille: what it is, when it is needed, which documents it is affixed to and which it is not, and how to verify its authenticity;

Marriage and divorce online via Diia: who can use the service, the procedure, which document the spouses receive, and the beta testing of online divorce.
The meeting was lively and informative. Participants actively joined the discussion, shared their own situations, and asked questions. Svitlana Fischer, together with Serhii Rozum, answered in detail all the questions of those present, so everyone was able to get useful clarifications about their own situation.
